Academic Center for Excellence (A.C.E.)

The Academic Center for Excellence empowers EGSC students to engage in the higher education experience with integrity and pride. We deliver an array of high-quality academic support resources, including tutoring services, workshops, and student-centered initiatives, which foster critical thinking skills and independent learning.

The cornerstone of the ACE mission is a commitment to providing resources and assistance throughout your experience as a valued member of the college community. We are here to help you meet your goals and achieve academic excellence. Our staff and partners take pride in contributing to student retention and success among a diverse and promising class of scholars. ACE initiatives are continuously evolving to keep time with the versatile challenges that meet today’s college student.

The Academic Center for Excellence is represented on EGSC's Swainsboro, Statesboro, and Augusta campuses. Students are welcome to utilize services at each location.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES

SWAINSBORO CAMPUS
Located in the Luck Gambrell Building Academic Center for Excellence suites Room J524
Center Hours:
        Monday - Friday - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tutoring Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
        Walk-ins are welcome; but if you want to make sure a tutor is available in the subject area you need assistance with, please contact an ACE Coordinator at tutoring_swainsboro@ega.edu. In person and remote tutoring sessions are available.

STATESBORO CAMPUS
Located on the EGSC-Statesboro Campus Room H192/194
Center Hours:
       Monday - Friday - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tutoring Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

AUGUSTA CAMPUS
Located on the EGSC-Augusta Campus in Galloway Hall Room 208
Center Hours:
        Monday - Thursday - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
        Friday - 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Tutoring Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
        Walk-ins are welcome; but if you want to make sure a tutor is available in the subject area you need assistance with, please contact an ACE Coordinator at rcordova@ega.edu. In person and remote tutoring sessions are available.

 

Tutor.com

  • Tutor.com is a free online tutoring service for enrolled students to receive tutoring assistance in a all subjects offered at EGSC
  • Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Tutor.com can be accessed through your myEGSC account and logging into Georgia View/ D2L
  • A Tutor.com link is at the top of the Georgia View/D2L home page
  • Click on the Tutor.com link to get connected to a tutor

TESTING SERVICES

SWAINSBORO CAMPUS
Located in the Luck Gambrell Building Academic Center for Excellence suites Room J523
Testing Hours: Tests may commence between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and conclude by 5 p.m.

STATESBORO CAMPUS
Located on the EGSC-Statesboro Campus
Testing is not held within the ACE. Check-in at the front desk of the main building.

AUGUSTA CAMPUS
Located on the EGSC-Augusta Campus in Galloway Hall Room 208
Testing Hours: Tests may commence between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and conclude by 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The final start time for testing is 1 p.m. on Fridays.

FACULTY TESTING RESOURCES
The Testing Center delivers proctored exams for professors, eCore students, and students who qualify for accommodations. Please complete and submit the appropriate Test Proctoring Form. Instructions may vary by campus.
