Congratulations on being accepted to East Georgia State College! We can’t wait to welcome you into Bobcat Nation! To make your entry to EGSC as smooth as possible, please read the following information. Know EGSC Username

Upon acceptance to East Georgia State College, you are issued a myEGSC ID-a unique username that is used in a variety of ways. Please note your username can be recognized as the portion of your email address before the @ symbol. For example, if the email address is jsmith123@ega.edu then the username will be jsmith123. To find your username, please visit the myEGSC Help page.

*Should you have any trouble accessing your account, please contact the IT help desk at 478-289-2004.

**Students who have not provided a Social Security Number will not have a student portal/email assigned until the SSN has been submitted. Please call 478.289.2017 for more information.

Activate your myEGSC account

Login to myEGSC, myegsc.ega.edu, East Georgia’s student information portal for information about your student file, registration, financial aid, advisor, grades, and more.

Password: The initial myEGSC password will be: Egsc + last 4 numbers of SSN + last 2 numbers of your birth year (no spaces or dashes). For example, John Smith (SSN 123-45-6789) (DOB 01/23/2003) would be Egsc678903.

Make sure to explore all the tools, applications, and learn to navigate the portal so you will be familiar with its use.

Complete the Online Orientation

Orientation is now online for your conveneience! Complete the Orientation modules and submit the pre-registration survey to get enrolled. Visit the Orientation page to get started.

Submit a  FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

This application will determine if you’re eligible for need based aid. Go to studentaid.gov - East Georgia’s school code is 010997. Your application for financial aid can also verify your citizenship.  You’re encouraged to submit a FAFSA, even if you think you’re not eligible for federal aid programs, as this application will review your eligibility for the HOPE Scholarship and other financial aid opportunities. Visit our financial aid website for more information about institutional scholarships.

Students that have not submitted a Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) will be required to pay out of pocket, otherwise they will be dropped from classes on the first day of the term!!

Check your CatMail (Office 365)

Login into your CatMail student email account, the official form of communication for information regarding orientation, registration, course information, and billing. Upon acceptance, all EGSC communications will only be sent to your CatMail, personal emails will not be used. 

Apply for Housing

If you wish to live in on-campus housing, please visit the Housing page. On campus housing is currently only available to students attending the Swainsboro campus. Please verify that your campus is listed as Swainsboro, otherwise if your campus is listed as Statesboro or Augusta you will not be permitted to move in.

Verify your Tuition Classification

Please refer to your official acceptance letter. If you are classified as out-of-state and wish to receive instate tuition, you must complete a Residency Correction form or appropriate waiver along with required documentation. For more information, please contact the Admissions Office at 478.289.2017.

Waivers: If you have 12 months consecutive residence in Aiken or Edgefield County, South Carolina, you should complete a border county waiver form. If you have 12 months consecutive residence in Alabama, Florida, or South Carolina, you should complete a border state waiver form. If you are a military service member, you may also be eligible for a waiver. For more information on waivers, please visit the Waivers and Tuition Classification page.

Verification of Lawful Presence

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia requires all applicants provide East Georgia State College with specific documentation verifying his/her lawful presence in the United States. For a list of permitted documentation, visit the Lawful Presence page

Disability Services Notice

East Georgia works to accommodate students with disabilities. If you have a disability and would like to request services, please contact the Office of Counseling and Disability Services by calling 478.289.2039.

CatCard - Student Identification Card

Your CatCard is your official student ID card and can be obtained after submitting an approved photo and having class registration. For more information please visit the Photo submission page.

Activate CampusLogic

The Office of Financial Aid uses CampusLogic to assist students that are chosen for verification or have conflicting information from the results of their FAFSA. ALL students requiring verification must activate their CampusLogic account by using their myEGSC credentials. Parents/guardians may also need an account to e-sign any required document for their student.  *Students must have a completed FAFSA on file before activation

Submit Immunization Documentation

Students must submit proof of required immunizations, certified by a health official, prior to matriculation. Required Immunizations include: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR1/MMR2), Tetanus/Diphtheria (MTD), Varicella (MCP/Chicken Pox) and Hepatitis B (HepB). If you’ll be living on campus, you must also obtain the Meningitis/Meningococcal (MENI) vaccine. Tetanus boosters must be valid within the last 10 years. 

Students who are enrolled in fully online distance learning programs are exempt from immunization requirements as long as they only enroll in fully online courses.  Distance education students who enroll in an on-campus course or a course offered at a campus managed facility will be excluded from class until proof of immunization is submitted. *Religious, military and online only exemptions simply need to complete the exemption portion located at the bottom of page 1 of the immunization form.

Take Accuplacer Placement Exam (optional)

Students who did not take the ACT/SAT or if ACT/SAT scores did not meet minimum requirements are automatically placed in Learning Support co-requisite courses in English and Math. Students have the option to take the Accuplacer for exemption of these courses. Exams must be taken prior to the start of the term and cannot be taken after enrolling in academic courses. Any ACT/SAT/Accuplacer test scores must be submitted for review (SAT Code - 5200, ACT Code - 0799).

Please note that ALL Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) majors are strongly encouraged to take the Accuplacer tests or submit any and all ACT, SAT, or previous Accuplacer test scores.

Review and Accept Financial Aid Award

Review your financial aid award in Banner Web in the Financial Aid tab. You must accept/deny aid as needed. Check remaining balance due and be prepared to pay your bill by the first day of class. Contact the Financial Aid Office by Phone at 478.289.2009. 

Sign up for the Nelnet Tuition Payment plan

Tuition payment plans break down your tuition balance into affordable monthly payments. There’s no interest, payment options are flexible, setup fees are affordable, and it’s easy to enroll! Students who have not received their financial aid by the first day of class or on move-in day, or those that that plan on paying out of pocket for their tuition are encouraged to register for the Nelnet tuition payment plan to prevent being dropped from their classes. This can only be done once the student has been registered for classes.

Authorize Fees

In order for your Financial Aid funds to be used to pay your Tuition and Fees or to be used in the book store (electronic Book Voucher) you must first "Authorize" East Georgia State College to use your funds to pay on your account. Federal Aid and Hope Aid are authorized separately. If you elect not to let EGSC use your Financial Aid for tuition and fees, you will be required to pay out of pocket any tuition and fees owed by the fee payment deadline or your courses will be dropped. Your Financial Aid disbursement will be electronically deposited to your designated financial institution approximately 10 days after courses begin.

Send Final Transcripts

If you are still in high school, please request a final transcript to be sent upon graduation that shows all credits and date of graduation. If you have attended college while in high school through Dual Enrollment or are transferring in from another college, we will need final transcripts from all colleges attended with final grades posted. Make sure they are sent to us directly from the college once you complete all of your Dual Enrollment work. Mail to: Office of Admissions, East Georgia State College, 131 College Circle, Swainsboro, GA 30401. Electronic transcripts can be sent to documents@ega.edu.

Submit any ACT or SAT scores 

If you have taken the ACT or SAT, please send a score report to see if you can exempt Learning Support classes prior to registering for classes. Email complete score report to documents@ega.edu.

Submit AP, CLEP, or IB scores 

You must submit these before registering for classes to receive college credit. Email complete score report to documents@ega.edu.

Military personnel, their spouses, and their dependent children may be able to receive military benefits to pay for their tuition here at East Georgia. For more information, please visit the Veterans and Military page.
