If you are a Freshman, Dual Enrolled, or Transfer student new to East Georgia State College, you must participate in an online pre-orientation to get important information that will help you succeed here at EGSC. This online pre-orientation must be completed prior to attending an in-person orientation at one of our three campus locations. The pre-orientation provides students with information about the many resources available at EGSC. Students will learn about student services, online courses, EGSC policies, and other student support programs. Online pre-orientation is mandatory for all new students as it is required to be able to register for classes. Failure to do so will delay your registration and you will not be permitted to attend an in-person student orientation nor be allowed register for classes.
Completing the Online Pre-Orientation
You must review the entire presentation and take a brief quiz to assess your readiness. Average time for completion is about an hour and 30 minutes. At the end of the presentation, you will be directed to print and submit the Orientation completion form. Once the form has been submitted, your Orientation hold will be removed and you will be allowed to register for classes at Orientation. Students cannot attend an in-person student orientation or register for classes until they have submitted the completion form. Students may also bring the form with them to their Orientation session.
ONLINE Only Students
Students taking only online courses are required to complete the online pre-orientation presentation. Once the form has been submitted, your Orientation hold will be removed and you will be allowed to register for classes. You will then need to contact the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) to set up your advisement and registration.
Transients and Former Students
Transients, Former Students, Non-Degree seeking students are not required to attend an in-person Orientation but are strongly encouraged to complete the online pre-orientation presentation. Reviewing the information will acclimate you to any information that may have changed or may be different from your previous institution.
