Housing: Important Dates

Summer 2021

May 31, 2021: Summer Housing Move-In.
Students who are financially cleared and residing on campus for summer term may move in on this date.

July 5, 2021: Offices Closed
The Housing Office will be closed on this date in observance of the Independence Day Holiday.

July 30, 2021: Summer Housing Move Out by 5pm
All summer school students should be prepared to move out or transition to their Fall room assignment on this date. No extensions will be granted due to maintenance and custodial timelines and needs.

Fall 2021

July 1: Housing Cancellation Deadline for Fall 2021
This is the last date a student can cancel their housing application without being charged a $1000 cancellation fee. Please be sure you send any cancellation request to housing@ega.edu from your EGA student email to ensure authenticity.

July 15: FAFSA Deadline for Housing Students
Students who wish to move into housing for Fall 2020 must have submitted all required FAFSA information by this date to guarantee housing. Students who do not have their information submitted may be replaced by a student from the waitlist (if applicable).

August 1: Payment Deadline for Non-Financial Aid Students
Any student who is not utilizing financial aid to pay for their housing MUST pay out of pocket by this date. This includes any student on financial aid suspension.

Friday, July 30, 2021: Resident Assistant Early Move-In and Training
Resident Assistants who will be working for housing during the Academic Year 21-22 may move in on this day.

Friday, August 6, 2021: Athlete Early Move-In
Recruited student athletes who have been cleared by financial aid may move in on this day. Contact your coach for information on your specific move in appointment time.

Friday, August 6, 2021: Online Housing Orientation Begins on D2L
ALL housing students will complete an online D2L housing orientation course this year in lieu of the traditional large auditorium meeting. There will be 6 modules each with a brief quiz that must be completed to get credit for attendance.

Monday, August 9, 2021: Housing Move-In (Last Name A-M)
Tuesday, August 10, 2021: Housing Move-In (Last Name N-Z)

Students should plan to arrive on their scheduled move in day by last name to avoid large crowds. Limit of 2 move in helpers per resident.

Friday, August 20, 2021: Housing Orientation D2L Course Complete Deadline
All modules within the housing orientation class must be completed by this date.

September 20-24, 2021: Health and Safety Inspections #1
Housing staff members will be entering your apartments during this week to conduct health and safety inspections. We will be checking to ensure there are no violations of housing policies, safety issues, or cleanliness issues that need to be addressed.

November 8-12, 2021: Health and Safety Inspection #2
Housing staff members will be entering your apartments during this week to conduct health and safety inspections. We will be checking to ensure there are no violations of housing policies, safety issues, or cleanliness issues that need to be addressed.

November 19-25, 2021: Thanksgiving Break
Students not approved to stay for break week must go home during this time period. Students can sign up for Thanksgiving Break by completing the break stay request form available on the forms and documents page of this website.

Friday, December 10, 2021 @ 5 p.m.: Housing Closes for Winter Break
All residents not approved for winter break stay must be out by today at 5pm. Students who are opting to cancel and not return to housing for spring 2022 must remove all belongings and return their room keys by this date or risk being charged an additional semester's rent.

December 13, 2021: Health and and Safety Inspection #3
