Change of Location (Swainsboro or Statesboro)
East Georgia State College currently has two locations to serve students (Swainsboro and Statesboro). EGSC students indicate the location they plan to attend at the time they apply or reapply for admission. Students who wish to change their location during their enrollment may do so by completing the Declaration: Change Location form available on the FORMS link and submit it to the Office of the Registrar. This request for change must be approved by Financial Aid Office, Business Office and the Office of the Registrar.
- The Declaration: Change of Location form must be submitted for review at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the term OR 2 weeks prior to Early Registration for an upcoming term. (For start of term and registration dates please refer to the Academic Calendar).
- The Declaration: Change of Location form may only be processed once an Academic Year.
- Students requesting attendance at EGSC Statesboro must do the following: complete a Georgia Southern University admissions application, pay GSU their application fee and submit a copy of their Immunization record to the GSU Health Services Department. Violation of these requirements may result in the student’s exclusion from attending the Statesboro location.
- Students requesting a change to attend EGSC Statesboro and have previously attended Georgia Southern University (GSU) cannot actively be on any type of exclusion or dismissal from that institution. Students who previously attended GSU are also required to submit an official GSU academic transcript to the Office of the Registrar for evaluation.
Change of Program of Study/Change of Advisor
East Georgia State College offers a variety of degree programs that meet the needs of a wide array of students. EGSC students select their program of study at the time they apply/reapply for admission. A student desiring to change from one program of study to another may do so by completing a Change of Program of Study/Change of Advisor form available on the FORMS link and submit it to the Office of the Registrar for processing.
Academic advisement is required at East Georgia State College. An academic advisor is assigned to each student upon admission. Advisor assignment is based upon a student's declaration of degree and program of study, as well as their location (Swainsboro or Statesboro). Students may change their academic advisor at any time during the semester to another faculty member only if they also advise for that Program of Study by completing the Change of Program of Study/Change of Advisor form available on the FORMS link and submit it to the Office of the Registrar for processing.
Any student required to take Learning Support Courses will be assigned to the ACE (Academic Center for Excellence) for advisement and will NOT be allowed to change advisors until they have exited all Learning Support courses.
