Transient & Transfer at EGSC Statesboro

Let's Get Associated.

East Georgia State College-Statesboro students fill out a special GSU application that enables them to take Healthful Living and Physical Education courses while at EGSC-S. Students who transfer to Georgia Southern within three years will not have to reapply to Georgia Southern University.

The transfer process is seamless

Each semester, a meeting is held for students who are ready to transfer to Georgia Southern University. At these meetings, students are walked through the transfer process and are given important information regarding dates and deadlines, SOAR, financial aid, on-campus housing, and much more.

Students complete the necessary paperwork, which is tracked by EGSC-S staff. Documents necessary to the transfer process are hand-carried to Georgia Southern University’s Admissions Office staff, where they are given priority processing.

For students who have special interests or talents, there are some transient course opportunities available:

EGSC-S students who wish to participate in ROTC can become a member of one of the top ROTC programs in the nation - the Eagle Battalion.

Interested students must meet with GSU’s ROTC cadre in order to be able to register for Military Science (ROTC) courses.

  • Print out the ROTC Approval form
  • Call the Military Science department to schedule a meeting:  912.478.5320
  • Take the form to the Military Science Department, which is located in Building 804 on the Georgia Southern University campus
  • Bring the completed form to EGSC-S

EGSC-S students who wish to participate in instrumental ensembles, marching band, or vocal instruction, and take the associated Georgia Southern University classes, must audition.

Once an EGSCS student is accepted into a GSU music program, the GSU instructor will notify EGSC-S of the acceptance and will provide the information necessary for course registration.
