President Schecter

From the largest group of May graduates to walk across the stage in four years, to planting a “moon” tree, to being approved for a new Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, EGSC had an amazing 2024! As we begin our Spring 2025 semester, I am more hopeful than ever for even greater things ahead – for our students, for our campus, and for our community.

I want to welcome and say "Happy New Year" to our new and returning students, faculty, and staff and remind you all that YOU are the lifeblood of East Georgia State College! Our culture of partnership would not exist without your commitment and your willingness to act and to serve. If you are visiting our webpage to explore what we have to offer, THANK YOU for your interest! I invite you to reach out to our friendly, professional staff who are happy to answer all of your questions about courses and degrees, housing and student life, financial aid, scholarships, and more.

We stand ready to serve you as an access institution in a peaceful, rural setting, that also boasts the lowest tuition and fees in the University System of Georgia. Many of our students are first generation and non-traditional students. We are also one of a few colleges in the USG to offer the CHOICE Program for Inclusive Learning, which serves those students who may have intellectual or developmental challenges and provides them with a variety of college experiences and opportunities for growth to prepare them for a successful, enriching life.

Now in our 52nd year, EGSC’s mission has remained steadfast – to deliver an outstanding education and to support our students and their families every step of the way from the moment they submit their application to receiving their well-earned diplomas at commencement.

There is no better time than NOW to join the momentum of the Bobcat Nation here with us at East Georgia State College and allow us the privilege of walking with you toward a more fulfilling and prosperous future!

Go Bobcats!

David L. Schecter, Ph.D., M.B.A.
