We are very excited for you to start your journey with us!

As an incoming student, you’re an incredibly important member of the Bobcat family, and we are committed to helping you transition smoothly into the East Georgia State College community. New Student Orientation is designed to give you information, resources and connections to support you during your first year at East Georgia.

For more details on what to expect, follow the steps below.

Please Note: This Orientation does not replace the eCore Orientation. If you are planning on taking eCore courses, you will have to complete the eCore Orientation prior to registering for those courses.

Step 1: Submit Class Registration Form

Now that you have been accepted, let's get you registered for classes! Filling out the Class Registration form will allow our Advisement team to design a schedule specific to your needs and based on your answers. If your schedule is not "perfect", there will be numerous opportunities to add, drop, or change the schedule prior to the semester. The sooner you submit the Class Registration form, the better chance you’ll have of getting the classes you need at the times you want.

Note: You will NOT BE able to register for classes until you verify your lawful presence. Submit required documents in person to the Office of Admissions or through the document upload sectionof your admission portal as soon as possible. You may also use your FAFSA to verify your lawful presence.

In addition to verifying your lawful presence before you attend NSO, you should also apply for housing if you plan to live on campus (Swainsboro only) and complete your FAFSA if you plan to use financial aid to pay for your education (EGSC’s code is 010997).

Step 2: Sign-Up for In-Person New Student Orientation

After you complete the Class Registration form (Step 1), you will need to sign up for an on-campus New Student Orientation (NSO) session.  You must attend an orientation at the same campus you plan to take classes. If you plan to take ALL of your classes online, please sign-up for an “Online Only” orientation.

After NSO, you’ll have a better lay of the land and feel confident about starting your time at East Georgia State.

Step 3: Complete online Orientation Modules

After you complete the Steps 1 and 2, you will complete your onboarding experience by reviewing the orientation modules which are required for ALL incoming undergraduate students and undergraduate transfer students. Through this helpful set of online modules, you’ll learn about all the resources East Georgia State has to offer during your time as a Bobcat and beyond.

You will first need to sign in to myEGSC student portal and save your username, password and nine-digit StudentID in the system. You’ll then use that info to access the modules, which take about 45 minutes to complete and can be accessed from anywhere. When you’ve completed all modules, you’ll see a screen listing your required next steps (by your specific student type).
