2022 Economic Outlook Luncheon held at EGSC

East Georgia State College hosted the 2022 Economic Outlook Luncheon on Thursday, March 31. The luncheon was held in the Jean Anderson Morgan (JAM) Student Center Multipurpose Gym. The event was sponsored by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce & Joint Development Authority. A networking session and check in was held followed by lunch and the presentation.
The event kicked off with Ken Warnock, the CEO of the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce, welcoming guests and giving updates on the local community.
The guest speaker for the event was Taylor Worley. Mr. Worley is a Research Professional II at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, Simon S. Selig Jr. Center for Economic Growth. He earned both his Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia in 2005 and his Master of Public Administration degree in 2021. Worley has been a full-time UGA employee and part-time graduate student since 2018. He has served in his current position researching aspects of Georgia's economy with the Selig Center for one year.
EGSC President Dr. David Schecter wrapped up the program with the closing remarks of the event. He thanked everyone in attendance, the Selig Center, and the local businesses in attendance.
The Georgia Economic Outlook series annually draws several thousand influential business and governmental leaders to events around the state. As the Terry College of Business's most visible public service unit, the Selig Center conducts research on economic, demographic, and social issues related to Georgia's current and future growth. As such, this popular program has become the most comprehensive and detailed look at the future economy in Georgia.
