
East Georgia State College names Erin Shufro as New Associate Provost

East Georgia State College (EGSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Erin Shufro as the new Associate Provost. With extensive experience in higher education and a passion for fostering student success, Shufro is poised to make a significant impact on the college’s mission and vision for the future.
In this role, Shufro will provide leadership and support for a variety of initiatives across academic affairs, student affairs, and enrollment management. She will assist with academic operations and play a key role in advancing student success, interdisciplinary initiatives, and institutional growth. Shufro is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive academic environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Shufro has led various impactful initiatives, including creating a supplemental instruction program, establishing a STEM Center to support student success, and launching a student research lab focusing on diverse mentorship and leadership development. She has also implemented innovative strategies for student retention, developed an online homework and ticketing platform, and served as a mentor and advocate for student organizations.
Shufro holds a master’s in chemistry from Northeastern University and is passionate about using her expertise to support students' academic and personal growth. A recent transplant to Swainsboro, Georgia, Shufro enjoys pickleball, completing intricate jigsaw puzzles, and exploring creative crafts. She is excited to join the East Georgia State College community and contribute to its mission of academic excellence and opportunity.
