This collaborative program between East Georgia State College and Georgia Southern University is designed to accommodate students in Statesboro and the surrounding area who do
not meet freshman admissions requirements at Georgia Southern University.
Students who enroll at the Statesboro location get to experience the unique combination
of East Georgia State College - Statesboro’s (EGSC-S) small, personalized academic
learning environment and the large university student services and resources of Georgia
Southern University (GS), while saving a lot of money.
In 2021, the Bobcat to Eagle (B2E) program was developed to provide an easy transfer
pathway directly to Georgia Southern. EGSC students can take classes on the Statesboro campus, and following the completion
of 30 credit hours in the program, those with a cumulative Grade Point Average of
2.5 or higher can opt to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program at GS. However, students that attend the Statesboro location are able to transfer to any
other institution and are not required to be a part of the B2E program.

EGSC-Statesboro students must submit an application for admission to Georgia Southern
University:
- Undergraduate Admissions Application for GS's Statesboro Campus
- Select Transient as your Application type and then select Transient. By selecting
this category, Georgia Southern will not be looking for high school transcripts, test
scores, or other Admissions documentation.
- Students who transfer to Georgia Southern within two years of completing the Georgia
Southern application will not have to reapply to Georgia Southern University when
they transfer from EGSC-S to GS.
***Failure to complete these steps will prevent students from receiving GS Student
Services or registering for GS classes.***

- Enroll in a minimum of 4 credit hours at EGSC-S

How do I get my Eagle ID card?
Your CatCard is your official student ID card and can be obtained after uploading
an approved photo AND having class registration on your account. EGSC-ST students
will need to visit Eagle Card Services to get their mobile Eagle ID card. You'll need both GS and EGSC ID cards to get the
most out of your experience!

Do I need a parking pass?
Students can park at Paulson Stadium and ride the GS bus or may purchase a GS Parking
Pass. The Gold
Route is the shuttle that stops closest to Nessmith-Lane Lot 30. You will need to
visit the GS Parking & Transportation Office to purchase a parking pass.
Can I join the Southern Pride Marching Band?
Yes! EGSC-S students who wish to participate in instrumental ensembles, marching band,
or vocal instruction, and take the associated Georgia Southern University classes,
must audition. Please visit the Southern Pride page for more information and see when auditions are open.
Can I purchase a meal plan?
Yes. You can purchase a meal plan through GS. Please visit the Eagle Dining Services for more information on meal plans.
Do you have on-campus housing?
On-campus housing is not currently an option for EGSC-S students, however our students can choose to live in student-centered apartment complexes located around
the GS campus. There are shuttles around campus that are in close proximity to certain
complexes shown here.

Do I put EGSC or GS on my FAFSA?
Listing both schools is an option. However, you must make sure that EGSC’s school
code is listed and submitted.
EGSC’s school code- 010997- This will come up as the Swainsboro Campus
Can I use my financial aid for rent, purchasing a meal plan, or books?
- Books: If you have aid left over after tuition and fees are subtracted, you are able to use
up to $800 or 75% of the amount left to purchase textbooks. This is called a “book
voucher”. The amount used will be deducted from your refund.
- Rent: The apartment complexes in Statesboro know that many students rely on their financial
aid refunds to pay their rent, and the majority of them will work with you to modify
payment deadlines to meet financial aid disbursement schedules.
- Meal Plans: Meal plans are purchased through GS and must be paid for upfront. In other words,
you are unable to wait on a financial aid refund before paying for the meal plan.
Do you plan to attend EGSC-Statesboro?
Have you already applied to East Georgia State College? If not, your first step is
to apply and be sure your campus selection is EGSC-Statesboro.
If you previously applied to Georgia Southern University, please complete the Consent for Release of Information form. By completing this form, you are authorizing Georgia Southern University to
release to East Georgia State College all admissions documentation you have submitted
to Georgia Southern so that your admission process to East Georgia can be expedited.

Once you have been accepted, you will need to complete the Orientation process.
Each semester, meetings are held for students who are ready to transfer to Georgia
Southern University. At these meetings, students are walked through the transfer process and are given important information regarding dates and deadlines, SOAR, financial
aid, on-campus housing, and much more.
